Position Summary

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for students with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders. The SLP supports student achievement by developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), collaborating with staff and families, and ensuring compliance with all district, state, and federal regulations.



Primary Responsibilities

Assessment & Eligibility

  • Conduct screenings, evaluations, and reevaluations

  • Interpret data to determine eligibility and service needs

  • Participate in referral and pre-referral processes

Intervention Services

  • Provide direct and indirect speech-language therapy services

  • Develop and implement individualized and group therapy plans

  • Monitor student progress and adjust services accordingly

IEP & Compliance

  • Collaborate in the development and implementation of IEPs

  • Maintain accurate documentation and service logs

  • Ensure compliance with IDEA and Arkansas regulations

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and related service providers

  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress

  • Provide consultation and training to staff as needed

Program & Professional Responsibilities

  • Maintain appropriate data collection and reporting systems

  • Participate in professional development and required meetings

  • Adhere to all district policies and procedures

  • Perform other duties as assigned by administration



Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)

  • Valid Arkansas teaching license with appropriate certification (required)

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred

  • Experience in a school setting preferred

  • Successful completion of criminal background checks

  • Demonstrates professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical conduct



Work Environment

Work is performed primarily in a school setting. The environment ranges from quiet to moderate noise levels depending on student activities.
