County Line District Alert

March 13, 2020

Parents/Guardians:

Due to the recent health risks associated with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) the County Line School District is developing plans for the school to be closed for an extended amount of time. The school district will only close at the direction of the Arkansas Department of Health or the Arkansas Department of Education. AT THIS TIME THE SCHOOL IS NOT CLOSING. The precedent has been set in the state to close schools where a presumptive positive case of Coronavirus has been discovered in the county and at this time no cases have been found in Logan or Franklin County. Notification of school closing will be made through all of our normal channels of communication (radio, television, social media, and our all call system).

The Arkansas Department of Education has extended the number of AMI days from 5 to 10. County Line still has 9 days remaining if we are required to close for an extended period of time. In the coming days students will be bringing home packets or instructions from each building level principal as to how to complete the assignments given. Students will have access to teachers during normal school hours through email or through the normal online educational delivery systems we use here on a daily basis. Students who do not have access to the internet will not be penalized, however they will have to complete the alternate work in pencil/paper form and they will be given three days upon returning to school to complete their assignments. Students will be counted absent if they fail to complete the assigned work.

The County Line School District is taking all the necessary precautions here at school. Our faculty and staff are working to maintain a clean, healthy environment. Please remind your student the importance of washing their hands. If your student is running fever or has flu like symptoms, please keep them at home until they are fever free for 24 hours.

Sincerely,

Taylor Gattis, Superintendent
